Some guys have a favorite pant of a lifetime. Mine are the Kavu Chiliwacks I purchased about 9-10 years ago. Hoping to replace them, I bought the newest iteration. What a disappointment !!!!! The back pockets are approximately 2/3 the volume of the old Chiliwack and the front pockets have that chintzy problem of cheap jeans, where the pocket material can become visible depending how the pant material shifts. Also, the pants are now made of a new material that is considerably softer (and admittedly more comfortable before begin worn in) and probably significantly less durable than the old pant-of-a-lifetime.If there was an option for 10 stars, that's what I would give this product. My son has worn Kavu clothing since the 5th grade / he's now 25yrs old. He swears by the brand and seriously has probably at least one of every item Kavu makes (wallet, belt, swimsuit, hat, watch band, etc!!!!). Great company!!!!!I own reusable shopping bags made out of nicer fabric. These fit and feel like a $20 pair of pants, definitely not the same quality as my old Kavu Chilliwack shorts. These went back in the mail the day I got them, and I will not be buying any more Kavu products unless I can check them out in person first.The material was as stiff as wall board. I thought after they were washed they would soften but not only did they not soften they shrunk in length and width by 2 inches. We were very disappointed because my husband has a pair of kava Chilliwack pants he has worn for years and never had a pair like this.had to return because of size. They were nice looking, but xx-large was way too small for my husbandVery good pants, durable and comfortable fabric. I even receive compliments! Only issue is that they are much too long and do require substantial hemming.Really cool look. The pockets have a unique look and lots of room. Would recommend. They should last for a long time.I love these pants, they're great! They're a cotton canvas kind material, so fairly durable.
